Model Productions Answers Frequently Asked Questions

SIGNING YOUR CONTRACT

Why Do I Need a Username and Password?

The Casting Board is a confidential source of auditions in the film and fashion industry. Because our castings are not open to the general public a password and user name are required to access the private professional castings.

Do My Parents Need to Sign My Contract?

To be in compliance with the child labor laws in America, any model or actor under 18 years of age is considered a minor and legally cannot sign a contract. A parent or legal guardian must represent the minor model and sign the contract on their behalf.

What Is a Non-Exclusive Contract?

Yes, as in any type of employment; if you earn $700 or more, Model Productions Management will send you a 1099 misc. Tax form at the end of the year. Models are responsible for keeping records and receipts of all bookings. Work Vouchers and Invoices can also be used for tax deductions at the end of the year. Models may deduct expenses such as haircuts and makeup..... Dental work such as braces may be considered a tax deduction because a "nice smile" adds to your career possiblities. Most travel and lodging expenses are covered in productions costs by the client. The child labor laws also require that a parent or guardian accompany a minor under 18 to all bookings. Most companies will sponsor one parent's expenses to manage the minor on location.

Where Do I Send My Contract?

The signed contract along with copies of your Casting Cards and Resume should be sent to:

     Model Production Corporate Headquarters
     8000 West Broward Blvd,
     Suite #422
     Plantation, FL 33388

When Do I Turn In My Contract?

The contract must be turned in within 60 days of winning the model search. Contracts not turned in will be awarded to alternates. Be sure to include the models’ casting cards and resume cards with the signed contract. Once the contract is submitted, the MP corporate office will activate the headshot and resume on line. The MP booking Boards in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Miami will launch all new faces for one year. Please be patient, success in this business is not overnight. Some careers take off quickly and others take time. This is the reason for the one year contract.
